Roles and Responsibilities


General Responsibilities

San Antonio ASTD Board Members are dedicated to the advancement of the training and development profession.

Board Members are expected to attend monthly Board meetings and most Monthly Learning Meetings. In addition, board members should expect to volunteer about 5-8 hours of their time during the month to complete specific organizational business and board tasks. Job Descriptions

  • President: Leads the San Antonio ATD Chapter and Board
  • President-Elect: Prepares to serve as President in the upcoming term
  • Past President: Serves as an advisor to the chapter
  • Community Development: Conducts outreach to area non-profits to provide job readiness training and mentoring
  • Finance: Accounts for the chapter's fiscal responsibilities and actions; prepares the monthly finance reports
  • Marketing & Communication: Promotes chapter events such as Monthly Learning Meetings
  • Membership: Manages the chapter's memberships records; assists current and prospective members
  • Talent Development: Plans and coordinates Monthly Learning Meetings by booking speakers and preparing the venue
  • Special Events: Coordinates the annual LEAPS Conference and additional chapter events
