2020 Call for LEAPS Speakers

Friday, September 25, 2020
PLUS Early Preview Sessions in September!

Do you love sharing knowledge, best practices, and ideas with others?

We are requesting speaker proposals for the 2020 Learning and Performance Summit (LEAPS). This year's theme is Re-Imagining Your Capabilities & Connections, based on the ATD Talent Development Capability Model.

Please review the information below and access the Speaker Proposal below to begin!  Some speakers have presentations or sessions already created, while other speakers would like to create a session just for this ATD San Antonio event. Both approaches are acceptable, as long as your presentation fits within our capability model and is tailored to our audience.

If you have any questions in advance please reach out to our VP Special Events or a member of our Board.

Should you have any questions prior to your submission, please do not hesitate to contact our VP Special Events or a member of our Board.

Event Overview
Friday, September 25, 2020
PLUS Early Preview Sessions in September!

This year's event will be an entirely virtually conference, ensuring we are able to host the experience for all involved. It will be a premiere digital event like we’ve never held before!  Attendees will be able to participate in both live and recorded sessions, allowing us to highlight more speakers than we ever have. Attendees, speakers and sponsors will be able to network and engage with one another from anywhere and sooner than the big day on Friday, September 25!

All Training, Learning & Development, Human Performance Improvement, Human Resources, and Organizational Development professionals are encouraged to submit a proposal to share their expertise with our greater community.

Speaker & Session Expectations

  • A Speaker’s objective is to share best practices, learning excellence, content, and/or learning perspectives from your role as a talent development professional. You will be able to confidently describe specific programs, initiatives, tools, or processes—something concrete that participants can take with them and directly apply in their own role as a learning professional.
  • Speakers contribute all services in a volunteer capacity.
  • Speakers meet all event deadlines upon request and direction from the Program Committee.
  • Sessions will be conducted virtually in an online platform that will allow for the integration of common video conferencing platforms (ex. Zoom, Webex, Meet, Skype, etc.)  The Program Committee will assist Speakers with the identification of the platform and any session support as needed.  Platforms will be provided by ATD SA.
  • Speakers may make no change to the identity of the speaker(s), session topic, title, description or objectives as approved by the Program Committee without permission.
  • Speakers should be willing to present twice should the need arise. This may include a recorded session.
  • Live core sessions will be slated for 45-60 minutes, but ATD SA will have the opportunity to host smaller pre-recorded sessions if that best fits a speaker/topic.  Speakers will conduct a session within the allotted time period to include appropriate time allowed for interaction and Q&A.
  • Speakers will provide any materials electronically, 14 days before their program date for virtual platform preparation. This commonly includes presentation slides/documents, handouts, surveys, polls, breakout room requirements, etc. Any attendee-focused materials will also be included on the ATD SA member's area of the website and virtual platform. All copyright remains with the author.  Speakers will submit a high-quality image and brief biography for inclusion in the virtual platform's speaker directory.
  • Sessions must not be a sales pitch for product or service; however, sponsorship opportunities are available.
