Talent Development, Adult Education, Synergy and Success


This interactive session will introduce participants to ATD’s (2019) Talent Development Capability Model while emphasizing connections between Adult education and key aspects of this model. It will also challenge participants to reflect on how they have developed their own talents related to the model and plan for future development in these areas.

Key learning outcomes will include increased awareness of key capabilities related to Talent Development as well as personalized insights in to how each participant is growing in these areas

    About the Speaker:


    Jeremy W. Bohonos is an Assistant Professor in Adult Education at Texas State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Human Resource Development (HRD) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He has taught classes related to HRD, Methods of Teaching Adults, Program Planning, Philosophy of Adult Education, and Organizational Diversity. Before pursuing his Ph.D., he worked as a career advisor and has been involved with two different ATD chapters.

    Dr. Bohonos also serves as a coordinator for the Master of Adult, Professional, and Community Education program at Texas State which is currently recruiting prospective students and looking for workplaces in which to place student interns interested in Talent Development.

    Much of Dr. Bohonos’ research employs intersectional analysis focusing on organizational (in)justice with a special emphasis on race and racism in the workforce. He also conducts research regarding the history of Adult Education, adult learning through music, and mobile learning in sub-Saharan Africa.

    Dr. Bohonos’ service commitments include working in editorial and reviewer capacities for leading journals in Human Resource Development, Adult Education, Gender Studies, and Organizational Behavior. He is also the Chair of the Academy of Human Resource Development’s (AHRD) Critical Theory and Social Justice Perspectives Special Interest Group.
