MONTHLY LEARNING MEETING

Creating a Learning Culture

Fostering a strong learning culture can have a significant impact on organizations—higher retention rates, better job satisfaction, increased productivity, and greater overall employee morale. The greatest tangible asset organizations have is typically their personnel, and as learning professionals, we are in the best position to help create a culture that supports and promotes growth and development.

In this session, we will explore what defines a learning culture, why it is important, and how to create and maintain that culture.

    About the Speakers:

Mandy Smith serves as Vice President of Training & Employee Development at SWBC. She is responsible for providing SWBC employees with learning and development resources, including instructor-led classes, eLearning courses, & learning and career paths.

Mandy is also responsible for SWBC’s formal Mentoring and Emerging Professionals Programs. Each yearlong program provides SWBC employees with additional development and engagement opportunities.

Mandy also oversees swbcU, SWBC’s turnkey, learning platform that brings many of the resources available to SWBC employees to our client partners. swbcU provides our clients an easy and affordable way to bring critical employee development resources to their organizations.

Mandy is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Management. In 2016, she was named a Learning! Champion by Enterprise Learning! Under her direction, SWBC’s Training & Employee Development team has earned a number of awards, including the Learning! 100, Brandon Hall Excellence, and multiple Learning Elite.

Learn best practices in creating a learning culture from San Antonio's own SWBC, 2021 Chief Learning Officer Learning Elite winner. This is the team's third Learning Elite win!
